Lake Stevens Art Print

This map features the namesake of Lake Stevens - also the name of the surrounding city - the largest lake in Snohomish County. It's also the deepest at 150 feet. I was inspired by my husband's interested in cold water swimming. An active group of brave swimmers meet up at the lake twice a week all year long!

In researching this map, I learned a lot about the fascinating history of the area. The Rucker Brothers (of Everett, WA fame) had a sawmill that operated at the beginning of the 20th century on the lake, in the north cove. In fact, a train engine was discovered at the bottom of the lake in the mid-90s, a relic of the sawmill operations, by a US Navy training operation. Apparently some locals remember diving down to "ring" the train bell when they were kids!

This illustration features an aerial map of the lake, and surrounding area. Ideal for the Lake Stevens resident or swimmer/boater/tuber/water skier in your life.

Original was created with watercolor and ink

This is an unframed archival print on high-quality matte paper. Watermarks are not included on the physical print.
