The Ferries of Guemes Island
Guemes Island is a small island located in the Salish Sea of NW Washington State, just a short ferry ride away from Anacortes, in Skagit County. In the past 100 years, it has only had THREE ferries which run every day multiple times per day between the island and mainland.
The second ferry, Almar, was retrofitted midway through its career, so I chose to depict a hybrid of the old open-air version (side closest to viewer) and newer closed metal side version (back side) since both had distinct silhouettes.
This is an unframed archival print on high-quality matte paper. Watermark is not included on the physical print.
