Lighthouses of the Washington Coast
This chart depicts 24 lighthouses of the Washington Coast. I included lighthouses that are operational, as well as historically significant lighthouses like Mukilteo, Point Robinson and Destruction Island. There are several light stations as well, many which were once official lighthouses but have since been replaced with newer technology, like Turn Point Lighthouse.
I've drawn each lighthouse as accurately as possible and labeled each with its location. A handful of the lighthouses are on Washington State's rocky west coast facing the Pacific Ocean, like the iconic Greys Harbor Lighthouse, but the majority are scattered about the complex estuary of Puget Sound. Many are on islands, like the iconic Lime Kiln on San Juan Island, and many more are on strategic points of land like Alki Lighthouse in Seattle and New Dungeness in Sequim.
I created the original lighthouse illustrations with watercolor and ink.
