Whidbey & Camano Islands Oversize Large Vinyl Map
This is a print on vinyl, mounted with wood dowels on top and bottom and includes pre-installed hardware for hanging. It's reminiscent of classroom pull-down maps and is ideal for a big space since it's 3 feet across and about 4.5 feet in height.
Whidbey Island and Camano Island are prominent features of the Puget Sound in Washington. Whidbey's unusual, twisting shape is 55 miles long, making it visible from most of the coastal areas near Seattle. It's a popular destination, despite the need for a ferry to access much of the island, from the Mukilteo-Clinton ferry crossing on the south end to the Port Townsend connector near Ebey's Landing. One of the longest islands in the continental US, Whidbey is home to historic Coupeville, Langley, Naval Air Station Whidbey Island in Oak Harbor, and the scenic Deception Pass on the north end.
Whidbey seems to serve as the protective big brother to Camano Island, which curls toward the mainland of Skagit County. It is a "drive onto" island with the 532 crossing and Camano Gateway Bridge. Familiar ferry crossings criss-cross Whidbey: Port Townsend/Coupeville, and Mukilteo/Clinton.
