Puget Sound Oversize Vinyl Map
This is a print on vinyl, mounted with wood dowels on top and bottom and includes pre-installed hardware for hanging. It's reminiscent of large classroom pull-down maps and is ideal for a big space since it's 3 feet across and 4 feet in height. It's a statement for any Pacific Northwest home, or lover of the PNW and Washington State!
As the second largest estuary in the United States, the Puget Sound offers complex waterways, peninsulas, islands (San Juans and Gulf Islands too!) and lakes. The Sound opens into the greater Salish Sea. There are many sailboats, ferries and float planes traversing these wispy waterways. There was so much I wanted to include in this watercolor illustration! I choose to focus on the water, however. I highlighted the cities nearest to the water, like Seattle, Olympia, Tacoma and Everett. Lighthouses and ports are indicated with symbols. Ferry sailing routes and destinations are included. Included in the title is the Lushootseed name for the sound: Whulge.
Great gift for the nautical person in your life, a traveler, or local!
The watermark is not included on the piece.
