The Salish Sea // art print

The Salish Sea is made of three distinct areas - The Strait of Georgia, The Strait of Juan de Fuca and the Puget Sound. The Sea stretches into both Canada and the USA, carving out straits and fjords, unique islands and peninsulas. The term "The Salish Sea" was coined in the late 20th century and officially adapted in the early 21st century. A vast amount of wildlife, animals, communities, indigenous cultures and transit infrastructure thrive in this area. I was inspired to map the Salish Sea to help clarify where and what it is. The focus of this piece is on the water, waterways and rivers. I've included significant cities (Vancouver BC, Bellingham, Everett, Seattle, Bremerton, Port Angeles, Victoria, Nanaimo) as well as major ferry routes and bridges (Hood Canal, Tacoma Narrows). Islands such as Vancouver Island, the San Juan Islands, the Discovery Islands, Gulf Islands, and Whidbey Island are all identified.

This map is a conversation piece and ideal gift for a sailor, traveler or appreciator of what connects the great Pacific Northwest.

This is an unframed archival print on high-quality matte paper. Watermark is not included in the actual print.
